This is one of my silk corner frames. I designed these to compliment a series of 1906 Edward Sheriff Curtis photographs being exhibited at 4 Winds Gallery in Pittsburgh. The design is loosely based on an original frame that was on one of the pictures. A small scrap of what seemed to be compo was drapped loosely between the corners of the frame before gilding. My version is done with stiffened silk bridging the corners before gilding.
